MOUNT COOK SCHOOL

A meeting of the Mount Cook Schools' Jubilee Celebrations Committee' was held in the Old Scholars' Club Room, Ghuznee street, on Thursday, Mr. W. E. Howe occupying the chair. After some discussion as to tho' striking. of a jubilee medal, it was. decided that tho matter be not proceeded with. It \va3 resolved that the Sports Committee bo asked to bring down a report concerning the number of trophies necessary, and the manner in which they ■be allocated. A report from the Concert Committee leaves no doubt as to the success of that function. It was decided that all ex-headmasters and mistresses be invited to the dinner. ' The secretary was instructed to .make., application .to the City Council for permission for the procession to be held in conjunction with the Sunday service in the Town Hall on 13th December. _ All who take part in the procession will be expected to wear the school colours. The School Committees' Association is to be invited to attend the service. Provision for ths younger children on sports day was left to Miss. Morgan, headmistress of the Infant School. Mr. J. London announced that following the jubilee celebrations he was prepared to pay the subscription of any scholar leaving school and desirous of joining up with the Old Scholars' Association. The offer is to remain open for three months.
