MELBOURNE, This Day.
Thomas Ferguson, charged with the murder of William Smith at Bacchus Marsh, has been declared insane, 1 and transferred to an asylum.
Ferguson fired three shots from a rifle at his mates on a station at Bacchus Marsh, on 11th August, killing one man and wounding two others. , •
