A QUEEN STREET INCIDENT
AUCKLAND MAN MASQUERADES
AS A WOMAN,

AUCKLAND, 2nd October. While patrolling his boat along Queen street about 8.30 p.m. on Sunday. 13th September, Constable Needham received a complaint about a man parading the streets dressed up as a woman. As •■• sequel to the incident, a young man, K. J. Dell, appeared before Mr. Poynton, S.M., at the Police Court this morning, on a charge, of behaving in a disorderly manner in Queen street. Constable ■Needham said he found Dell walking along the street. Ho was dressed in female attire, and wore a woman's shoes, besides a hat, veil, and neck" scarf. Dell was attempting to disrobe when witness first saw him. Accused : "You wore in plain clothes, constable?" "Yes, that's so. T-Jut I told you who 1 was." "Did I nnt tell yon that 1 had to meet a gentlsman ai, the Strand Theatre that night?'' "Yes, you paid'somclhina; nbouf. it."
