Wahle, charged with forgery and uttering, pleaded not-guilty; and was committed, for trial; The accused purchased goods at Frankton from a draper ■valued at &3, and tendered a cheque for £15 purporting to be signed .by a local farmer, but subsequently^found to be a forgery, and Wahl« was arrested at Baetihi. ■ ,'..•" :..
A half-caste, Charles Murphy (28), pleaded not guilty to.the theft of a suitcase and seven bottles of whisky. He wasl' committed for trial, bail being allowed in two sureties of £200 each. Other charges aro pending.
