W.E.A. LECTURE
The amount of work done in - the Dominion since the Forestry Department was formed some five years ago in connection with that important matter is" little realised by the average citizen. New Zealand now possesses over seven million acres of forest .'dedicated for forest management und conservation, an increase of over five million acres in the last fivo years; plans for the increase of the State area of man-made forests in the Dominion aim at the formation of 300,000 acres in tho next ten years, or. ftvo .times the ..existing area of plantations. The. methods employed and the problems -met with .in carrying .out this integral function of national policy will be explained in a lecture to be given by Miss M; Sutherland, in the Bed Cross Hall, 63, Dixpn street, on Saturday evening. Tho lecturer holds a responsible position in the Forestry Department, and is Highly ' qualified tq speak on the Bubjcct.
