' The Australian Presß Association learns that the shipowners are: 1 dispatching some steamers direct to Adelaide, omittine South Africa. They will immediately cancel the projected departures of- some steamers. Nothing yet has been settled: regarding which sailings are to be stopped, but the mail steamers will not be affected. Further cancellations are probable if the strike continues.- ■

The Seamen's Union states that if any of its members are unplaced in consequence of the curtailment of the Australian services, they will- receive the union's first care.
