HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
The Spring,, or as it is commonly, called, the Daffodil Show, of the Horticultural Society- will be held on Wednesday next, and shows every promise of being the best yet held.. Starting in a small way about five'years ago. in the Farmers' Institute, the Show has been held since iii the Concert Chamber. This year for the first time>it will be held in the large Town Hall, the Concert Chamber being now too small to accommodate the,entries coming forward. Compete tion for the R. A. Wright trophy among the suburban societies promises to be unusually keen. Ifc 'is at, present held 'by, St. Thomas' ..Society, who only: require to ho again successful this year, when it becomes their own property. However, it was held by the Hataitai Society in : 1923, and. the Onslow Society . in 1924, and these societies, are still keen to win it outright, :;o a most interesting competition is. Jooked . for.. Four largo growers arc' showing from. Tanm.'ilii, and a number of. other .exhibitors of ;nuto are also raining; forward from -on taidc '-Wellington';.
