Two labourers, named James Ward (54) and Charles Morvan,' alias Charles Morgan, alias Watson Patrick, aliis Morgan JameS (53), pleaded not guilty :at the Magistrate's Couit jesterday, before Messrs. R. 1' II inlon and L..Longmorc,'J.P. 'a, to t«o charges of brcakmg'and enter-' ing by clay two houses at' York" Bay on 25th Vugust,, and'stealing a quantity of household-goods,- ladirfs' wear,' and a quantity of liquor, of a total value of £21 12s'-6cl. Scnior-Detoc-tivc Cameron conducted the case for tho Crown. Evidence was given by Elsie Alice Fife ' and William Gray Young, oivucrs of the two houses entered as to having found tho. articles mentioned in tho. charges missing when they returned to tho houses. Detectives Jarrold and M.'Lennan gave evideneo of tho information whicli led to tho : two acr eused being arrested, and both men were then committed l to the Supreme, Court for trial. " . - " .
