For textiles the Russians asked for'; .■ only >ix. months': credit, • which the. •■■ French manufacturers are willing to . give; but. it is understood' that the. . amount thus being expended is small. ; For machinery they want credit for from ■ * two to five yeaiis, which the firms they'approached declare is quite impossible. There is talk of forming a' special bank ■ to facilitate these transactions, but the existing banks will not be rjartyto such•■■ : a scheme, and it is not likely to ma- ; terialise. ■.'-.
