OPINION SHARPLY DIVIDED,
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPIRIQHT.)
(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CADLB ASSOCIATION.) ; LONDON, 4th September.
. The newspapers are sharply divided concerning the wisdom of continuing the Irak mandate. '
The "Morning Post!', aijd the "Financial Times" emphasise the- importance of the development of tho oilfields, and consider that.tho country's.future would be brighter under a mandate than it could be otherwise. . .■
The "Daily Express" and the "Daily Mail," ' however, protest vehemently, declaring that the extension is a violation of Mr. Baldwin's ' pledge. The "Daily Mail" demands that Parliament shall bo summoned to decide the question. ■ •■'■•;.
