DE LUXE THEATRE.

The great herds of bison which inhabit the Western lands of the American Continent are seen in the great Paramount film showing on the programme at the De Luxe Theatre. It was screejied again on Saturday evening to a crowded house. "Tha Thundering Herd" is no ordinary Western picture, but is a classic of the screen, and one that will long be remembered by those who are privileged to see it. Tho story tells of the slaughter of buffalo in North America by the early pioneers. Good value for hides attracted many wagon trains to the Western plains, but the Indians, who saw their source of living cut off, resented the intrusion of the white men. Throughout the story is a delightful ro-' mance, the thread of which is not lost for a moment in the thrilliug action of tho picture. A stampede of a herd of buffalo, an Indian fight, vistas of bliz-zard-bound prairie, and snow-capped mountains that; are awe-inspiring in their majestic grandeur are among tho big scenes. The stampede of buffaloes is one of the most realistic things ever caught by the camera. Jack Holt is ideally cast as Tom Doan, a manly young Kansas hunter. Raymond Hattondo'es excellent work as the pioneer hunter of the party, and Noah Beery makes the character of the brutal Randall Jett stand out in bold relief. Lois Wilson makes a charming heroine. The orchestra's overture, under flje leadership of Mr. L. D. Austin, is Rubinstein's-"Rus-sian National Dance," and the entr'acte Rachmaninoff's "Prelude." The iucidental music played is taken from the works of Beethoven, Tschaikowski, Sa^ franek, and other great composers. "The Thundering Herd" will be screened again this evening and during the week.
