IN CASE OF COLLAPSE
STATE SHIPS TO BE STOPPED.
SYDNEY, 28th August. It is stated in union circles to-night on the beet authority that should the strike of British seamen approach a point that indicated it might collapse, all the inter-State steamers would be stopped. The Australian seamen's purpose in adopting such drastic action is said to be their determination to bring pressure upon the wharf labourers, whose attitude has been so far non-committal.
