MINISTER AND COMMISSIONER
"I am not going to interfere with the Public Service Commissioner," emphatically dcelared the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. W. Nosworthy), when leplying to a" protest made by Mr. A. Harris (Waitemata) against the transfer of a certain officer of the Department.
Mr. Harris said it would be idle to say that the Public Service Commissioner had made the transfer, for that would be simply begging the question.
The Minister stated that he had never discussed the matter with the Public Service Commissioner, and ■would not interfere with that officer in any way.
Mr. Harris: "Do you suggest that he made this transfer without a recommendation of the Department?" !'Yes," replied the Minister, "he can make transfers on his own. I would not do or say anything to interfere with the Public Service Commissioner."
