AMERICAN FARMERS AND BANKS.

United States farmers appear to be recovering from the effects of their post-war boom. The National Bank of Commerce in New York reports' that there Is steady improvement in the condition of banks In some of the main farming regions. Liquidation by farmers of their indebtedness has been a »low process, and even yet it is not complete. The load formerly carried by the banks has now been transferred in large measure to other Institutions, however, and it is likely that the crops of this season will be moved ■with relatively little aid from the Federal reserve banks."
