LODGE MEETINGS
The monthly meeting of Port Nicholson Encampment, No, 6, 1.0.0.TP., was held last,week, Bro. J. Nind, P.G.C.P., presiding. Six nominations were received for the Patriachal Degree at the September meeting, at which an address will also be given by Bro. J. 0. E. Turner,, P.G. The encampment then went into harmony to commemorate its second anniversary, members sitting down to supper, during which the loyal and other toasts were honoured, and items rendered by Bros. F. T. ' Janes, P.G., G.Reg., and J. F. Miller, P.G, O-Kiwi-Iti Bebekah Lodge, No. 44, Eastbourne, held its fortnightly, meeting laet week, Sister G. C.-Jones, N.G.*, presiding. There was a full muster of lady members, and Sisters E. Maley, P.N.G. (Lady District Grand Master) and W' Maley, P.N.G. (Victoria Rebekah Lodge, No. 2), Bro. A. Ba Smith (secretary, Muritai Lodge, No. 113), and G. F. Rudkin, P.G.G.H., Dist. Sec, were also present. Six lady candidates were elected and initiated in regular form. The Diet. Sec. congratulated the lodge on the very fine attendance and on the membership progress being made, stressing that with its splendid • roll it should have no great difficulty, if progress was steadily maintained, of becoming the premier Rebekah lodge of the Dominion. He also warmly commended the officers in the progress made in, their duties, and on behalf of the Grand Master presented the lodge with its charter. Cleveland Lodge No. 13, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., Brooklyn, held its fortnightly meeting last. Wednesday evening,.Bro. J, T. Hedges, N.G., presiding. There was a good attendance of members and several visitors from kindred lodges were also present. Bro. E. Mason was installed as V.G. by the D.D.G.M. (Bro. H. Dames, P.G.), and in addition two candidates. were elected and initiated in regular form. ' ' Muritai Lodge, No. 113* 1.0.0. F., N.Z., Eastbourne, held its regular meeting last Wednesday evening, Bro. P. N. Young, N.G., presiding. There was a good attendance. Two candidates were nominated, it also being decided to pay a memorial tribute to the late Bro. W. Reid, Past Grand Secretary, by attending Divine Service at St. Alban s Chur f last Sunday./ Zealandia .Lodge, No. 46, L0.0.F.; N.Z., Newtown, held its fortnightly meeting last Thursday evening, Bro. D. Walliis, N.G., presiding. There was a good attendance, including a number of overseas bretliren. Accounts totalling £40 were passed, three candidates nominated, and an appeal in a. necessitous case authorised. Relative committees also reported on an installation of a wireless set for use of members in the Public Hospital. The fortnightly meeting of Heretaniiga Lodge, No. 115, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., Petone, was held last Thursday evening. Bro. J, W. Pearson, N.G., presided. .There was a good attendance of members. Bro. G- Bugg presented tlie lodge with a chaplain's gown, cushion, and Bible, hearty appreciation of the gifts being recorded. Appreciation of his services aa recording secretary were also tendered | to Bro. J. Hardy, who is transferring to iMaranni Lodge Xo. 324, Miranipr. It was decided to Holt! memorial service for the late Bro. W. Reid, Past Grand Secretary, in the lodgeroom'lost. Sunday'cvcning, in conjunction with Star efTctone liebduh Lodfn Kg, 4&.
