The next .thing heard was that the man had been found by the police in. the waitiiig-room at the railway station at 1 o'clock on Sunday morning, he having missed the boat train. As a result he was taken into custody at the Consul's request, and will be forwarded to the fleet at Honolulu by the first steamer. Two American sailors arrived in Lyttelton this- afternoon, and endeavoured to get work on ships. As no work was offering they decided to return to Christchurch. Their reason for staying ashore was s that they wanted work on a "ranch," but failed to obtain any. Both have adopted civilian dress.
