CLOSING OF COMPETITIONS.

The Management Committee of. the Wellington Hockey Association met last evening, Mr. P. Atkinson presiding. The matter of closing the various competitions was discussed. The senior A grade competition will be terminated on Saturday next, with' the meeting of Wesley and Hutt. Several games have to be played in the senior B grade before the winners of the championship in that grade can be determined. In view of this fact, it was resolved to leave the_ matter of closing the senior B competition to the next meeting. The junior grade competition has been completed, the Karori team securing the premiership honours. The third grade competition has also been concluded, but in order to give the teams further, matches it was decided to play a series of games on Saturday next. One or two more games, have to be played in the intermediate grade before the competition can be closed. It was -arranged that the following intermediate grade fixtures be played fin Saturday next:—V.M.C.A. v. Huia; Wellington v.-, Wesley. The question of the transference of the New Zealand Hockey Association's headquarters from Christchurch to some other centre was touched upon. It was suggested that one or two investigations be made before the matter was debated in full, and the meeting agreed to hold it over for discussion on Monday evening next.
