famous match -with Gloaming, but The Hawk is a much, lighter horse than his conqueror, and the strain on hia tendons or joints was not so great. Jfoson is still swimming tha_ old horse, and is of opinion that with a spell from; training he is likely to get over his trouble sufficiently to d& trained for short races in the Dominion, but ho thinks it would be suicidal to attempt to keep him in work for the A.J.C. Spring Meeting.
