Mrs. Coontz, wife of Admiral Coontz, has, • through Mr. W. L. Lowrie, U.S. Cohsul-General, requested that the following message may be published in the Press:—

".Mrs. Coontz and the wives of- the other officers of the United States fleet, wish to ihankjlie ladies of AVellington who so graciously and delightfully entertained them during their all too short visit. They particularly appreciated the beautiful flowers. They regret that' they were unable, before leaving to thank each one personally, and sincerely hope they may have, the pleasure of again meeting their hostesses either here in New Zealand or in America.'.'
