The Eussian textile delegation Which"was visiting Manchester with a, view to making large purchases was suddenly recalled to Moscow without having placed any contracts. The failure was .mainly due to its insistence: on long credits. The delegation particularly desired to place orders in Lancashire,: but the Russian firms were informed that Lancashire firms were not prepared to jeopardise ■ their trade relations with other foreigners who paid within two or three months. By accepting, the Russian orders they would have to wait two or three yean.
