TOMORROWS TRIAL
The senior Rugby championship having been closed, a trial game is to be played at Athletic Park to-morrow afternoon with a view to the selection of the Wellington team to meet Hawkes Bay in the Ranfurly Shield match at Wellington on the sth September. The choice of players for the Shield match is arousing considerable interest, and with many claimants for places in the teams being on trial,, to-morrow there should be good football for patrons, as well as an excellent opportunity of judging the merits'of players. of the latter who are in the running for places in the team to meet Hawkes Bay will be in Palmerston North as Wellington's quota of the combined team against New South Wales, but their absence makes room for a local study of other players who are on the verge of representative honours.,
