EASTBOURNE ENTERTAINS
A large and enthusiastic crowd of .over three hundred dancers assembled last evening at the Pavilion at Eastbourne to take part in the Eastbourne Bor.oughCouncil's official reception to the American Fleet. There were 52 sailors present, the men being billeted for the night with local residents. Dancing was kept up, interspersed with songs and other items, from 8 p.m. to midnight. Music was provided by the many musicians living in the East Harbour borough, some of the Americans also giving assistance. A feature of the evening was an exhibition fox-trot by the sailors, who showed how this dance is done in America". The men returned to their ships this morning by the early ferry boat.
