Mr. Thompson said the islanders ■were neglected by the Commonwealth, and were hostile to the present Adminis-, tfation, and -wished to belong td New Zealand, -which was a nearel 1 and better market. Mr. Thompson urged the Commonwealth to halfd the island to New Zealand, the debate was adjourned.
