It is understood the idea behind the committee's mind is consistent research in the direction of improved re; frigeration and transport. It is hinted that experiments With frozen joints of beef at the Cambridge low temperature station has given results excelling even the best chilled meat. Attempts to apply the process to sides of beef were at present considered to be one of the best avenues of research. It is also likely that steps' will be taken, to have special experimental refrigeration cham-bers-fitted in steamers regularly trading to the Antipodes. A correspondent of the "Daily Chronicle" suggests that the use of the Union Jack should be protected by law a« an exclusive trade mark of all Empire products.
