A BILL RESUSCITATED
The Juries Amendment Bill , which was introduced in the .Legislative Council last session and met with an umvcl-
come reception in the House of Representatives after passing that Chamber has made its appearance again this year. It waa introduced in the Council yesterday afternoon by the Hon. J. McGregor, and read, the first time. The Bill is in exactly tho same form as when it last saw the light. In brief, the measure provides that a majority of five-sixths may be accepted in criminal cases, except capital cases; and that a trial may bs continued notwithstanding that the jury may be reduced in number
