TARANAKI ON TOUR.
The "fsrsnaki touring team returned to Wellington this morning from a visit, to Marl borough and Golden Bay, nnd proceeded to Carterton this afternoon. Matches are to be. played with Wnirarapa at G'artcrton to-morrow, , with Ha.wkcs Bay (for the Kanfurly Shield)
jit Hastings on Saturday, and with Mnnawnlu, at Palmerston North, on Wednesday of next week. Against Mnrlborou'gh on Saturday last the tourists wove beaten by 16 points to 5, but' a comfortable win was recorded over the Golden Bay-Motueka representatives at IMotueka yesterday. In the latter match Ward and Guy each snored two tries for Taranaki, and Johnston, Fryday, and Walter one try each- Fryday aluo converted a try. The home team obtained a converted try. The game resulted : Taranaki 23, Golden Bay-Motu-eka 5. Mr. F. Whyte is manager of the team, and l\lr. J. Ga-rcier, president of the Taranaki Rugby Union, is also with -the tourjag part^'.
