The annual festival of tho Wellington Competitions Society, commencing in the Town Hall and Concert Chamber, on Saturday, promises to be the most successful, .festival the society has held. Entries have been received from all parts of the Dominion,' and the number of competitors from other towns is especially gratifying, assuring keen competition. The music chosen for tlie test items this year is by modern composers, and will be quite new to New Zealand audiences. The elocutionary items have been selected from standard authors. A cordial invitation has been extended to the officers and men of thp /lent to attend any session on the opening clay, and it is hoped this invitation will bo taken full advantage of.
