BRITAIN'S MEAT
THE COLD STOKAGB BUSINESS.

LONDON, 14th August. A rumour that there is a clash of interests between British and American meat concerns in South America was mentioned at a meeting o£ the Union Cold Storage Company. Replying to a shareholder, the chairman, Mr. Roger Sing, said there had always been a clash of interests, but he did not think the company need fear" it in any way. He declared that the report of tho Food Commission had enhanced the company's prestige.
He stated that the cold storage accommodation in tha country, particularly in London and Liverpool, considerably exceeded requirements, and some of their stores remained closed. This was a legacy of the war.
The balance on working accounts was £975,000, which was a record. A dividend of 10 per cent, was declared, • and £149,000 was carried forward. The business of the company continued to grow. •
The reports and accounts were unanimously adopted.
