CHILBLAINS

Chilblains are both painful and unsightly, and they - are generally a little difficult to cure. It is not just a matter ,of dabbing on ointments and expecting a, curs ia a few days. The first thing to remember is that as much exercise as possible should be taken each day—a brisk, short walk will do, or ten minutes in the morning with tha skipping rope. Then warm, light, woollen garments should ba chosen, especially woollen stockings and glovos, or woollenlined gloves. No* tight garments should be worn. Pood too is important. For broken chilblains get the following mixed up: Calamine, 6 drachms: yellow beeswax. 6 drachms; olive oil, 2 ounces. There is also an internal remedy which may be taken immediately there are signs of chilblains, This consists of 6 drachms lactate of limo, 1 ounco orange flower syrup; mako up to, 6 ounces with distilled water. The dose is a tablespoon ful twice a day in a Uttle water.
