The International ' Prison Congress ■unanimously resolved to demand effeo tive film censorship in every country* with the primary object of protecting youths, and the inspection of kinenias in order to ensure the "carrying out c£ the- decisionsi of/the/ee'ilsQ/ijhip.'.. :;; ' The-censorship, the resolution staled, should not be confined to questions of obscenity, but should deal with ;ul mat-, ters calculated, to injure or deprave youth.'• The congress hold that special film.'. exhibitions should. ba provided for. tho young,-'and-that the' State. ' 'should subsidise organisations for the production of films of real value to the young, and. the general public. It was also resolved that the question of films should be regulated by international agreements.
■ A resolution ..was carried .declaring that ■ the' indeterminate sentence vai one of the most efficacious means ol social defence;.that the law of each country should determine where and for what cause there should be a maximum duration for indeterminate sentences; and that there should be in every cas* guarantees and rules for the conditional release of prisoners.
