FRENCH RUGBY

TO BE REMODELLED ON NEW

ZEALAND LINES.

(UNIT!* PIMSS ASSOCIATION—COPIIUHHT.)

(■IDTBK'a TELEQRAII.)

(Received Bth August, 11 a.m.)

PARIS, 7th August. A writer in "L'Auto" lengthily discusses the question of remodelling French Rugby on the lines of the New Zealand style of play in view of the mediocre results achieved by France last season. The writer says that the New Zealand rule as regards throwing in 'from touch will be applied in France next season, but he thinks that the rule that the ball can only be kicked straight into touch when the side is attacked from within its own twenty-five is beyond the present level of French Eugby on account of the physical effort needed.
