(er TntwißApn.—press association.) AUCKLAND, 4th August. A meeting of the Reform Party, Auckland, to-night selected Miss Ellen Melville as official candidate for the Grey Lynn electorate.
Attendants who entered the pens of/12 powerful Australian merino rams at the Empire Exhibition recently -had a tussel reminiscent of the Rodeo when they attempted to cut the animals' hooves, which had grown long in quarantine. The rams had to bo throw, by their horns and held clown. A new wire rope that does not unravel when it is cut is on llio British murr.Ov. The strands aro twisted before Ibo rope is formed, so that they maintain their noeition even, when eeverod.
