"ITALIT" CORRIGATED ROOFING
C. and A. Odlin are the agents for Italit Gold Medal Asbestos Corrugated Sheets, one of the most attractive and serviceable roofings now on the market. The corrugations are about three times the dimensions of those usually associated with iron, and are obtainable in both grey and red asbestos. Owing to their largo corrugations, they resemble the old picturesque Human tiling very closely, and is said to be even more effective as a modern substitute. There is a solidity &nd strength about "Italit* 1 in its appearance, the manner in. which it is screwed on (with three-inch screws clamped on to a lead washer), and tho perfect alignment obtainable in the vertical laps, as against the old "staggered"'method, that strikes one as a production which should come at once under the eyes of every architect and builder in the country. To show that there is confidence in this roofing in. high places, "Italit" was used to roof the new model school recently completed in Eltham, also the new Town Hall at Ngaio. In the exhibit in the Winter Show the firm shows the roofing as erected, including the method of mitreing the corners and fixing the ridging. It ia all very impressive, and should be seen by all about to build or renew roofing. Another specialty in this exhibit is the doors this firm are showing. Attention is drawn to the very fine specimen of the latest door for hospitals, particularly one in polished oak. only ornamented by a pale pink inner border. The door itself has an absolutely plain surface. , There is not the semblance of any moulding or ornamentation of any kind.so that it can be dusted and polished practically in one sweep. Even the top of the door is made on a bevel, so that no dust may be allowed to lodge there without being observed. Then there is a special line of leadlipht interior or verandah doors picked out in beautiful designs, which make a very. artistic show with a plow of light behind them. The present doors are now in design, nnd nrc well worthy of inspection by all 'visitors to tho Show. The firm has also something new to show in tiled fireplaces. It goes a step furthor in artistic craftsmanship than any other maker of t his line in Wellington in the handsome little wooden cabinets (with lendlight fronts). It is fitted cither centrally or on. either side of nil tile surrounds. There is also one special design having a clock cabinet centrally, containing an eight-day clock. A complete range of coloured tiles is there provided to suit nil tastes.
