BUSY HOLIDAY
THE AUGUST FESTIVAL. (OMIHD MUSS ASSOCIATION—COPXBIQHI.) (AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLI ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 3rd August. The weather .was showery for" the Bank Holiday. The King and Queen attended the opening of Cowes Regatta. The King, sailing his own cutter Britannia, finished fourth, behind White Heather, tho winner of the principal race. At Wembley there were 150,000 -visitors before the lunch hour, when the turnstiles registered 40,000 an hour. There were great crowds at other holiday places. Hundreds slept on deck chairs on the seashore owing to the boarding-houses being overcrowded. Unfortunately there .were many accidents, due to the excessive traffic on the roads. Fourteen fatalities already have been recorded.
