At all events, the f.o.b. S.I. price at Lyttelton is back by 10... per ton on what was ruliug a week ago. The Waitoino, soiling from Lyttelton on 12th August, will take a consfgnment of approximately 5000 sacks. Sydney merchants aro just ."nibbling" at business. To-day's values on trades at Canterbury stations aro Jrora £5 to £5 ss. pel- ton. Except-for potato business the market is almost lifeless. Oats are moving very slowly, and the improvement in partridge peas values has eased.
