WATTS PENINSULA
ANNNUAL EEPORT TO ELECTORS. ■ The annual report of the Watts Peninsula Municipal Electors' Association remarks particularly upon the very rapid growth of Miramar, and states that, while the financial provision made by the City Council for the proper development is still far from satisfactory, nevertheless the efforts of the association had not been fruitless. The council was now arranging the necessary finance for the provision of water and drainage, and it was hoped that action of some sort would be taken at an early date. Attention l^ad several times been drawn to the need of the attention to roads and footpaths. Provision had been made on the estimates for the improvement of Aiva road.i Sefton road and Rongotai terrace should also receive attention as sooii as possible. Satisfaction is expressed by tho committee at tho mauner in which requests for better lighting were fulfilled. The need for tramway waiting sheds at certain places, particularly at the junction of Broadway and Monorgan road, is again stressed. The appreciation of the threepence concession tram fare is specially noted, but it is suggested that to meet the extra use of long distance cars as a result of that concession it will be necessary to increase the number of trips made, particularly at busy times. The erection of three coin-in-the-slot telephones was deferred pending the completion of the new telephono exchange, but it was pleasing to note that the association's request for a second delivery over tho Watt's Peninsula, had been granted, except that tho far end nf tho valley and the Heights would not bo included at present. The committee still had -under action tho question of an additional reserve at Sliraniar, and tho council had been re(jiifisled to acquire throe acres. of Ihs polo ground for tho purpose and in connection •with which the committee had pledged its help.
