MEDAL COMPETITION.
(DNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPTRIGHT.) (Received 4th August, 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Australian medal competition was won by T. E. Howard, with a score of 142. WAIWETU CLUB. Winners in a Canadian men's fourHome on Saturday for the captain's trophy were Messrs. Kennedy and Taylor, 2 up. Messrs. -Kirk and Adamson also finished 2 up, but, at the last green in the failing light, .it was discovered that the wrong ball had been played. In the weekly Pulley Ball Competition, Miss M. M'Ewen was successful amongst the ladies, with 105, 27-78, Misg E. HanBon being the runner-up with 112, 30-82. Mr. W. Halligan won the men's competition with 98, 22-76, Mr. H. Firth being the runner-up with 100, 20-80. The Greytown Club were visitors during the .week-end,. and the games were played under ideal conditions, with the greens in' perfect order. The four-ball matches results as follows /Waiwetu names mentioned first):—Pulley and Adamson lost to Balfour and J. C: Fiest; Kennaday and Taylor beat H. W. Fiest and Bunny; Walker and Gilbertson bent Taverner and Thompson; G. Cook and Firth beat Ryan and Thomas; Kirk and E. Hogg beat A. E. Fiest and Eaton; Coles and Hobbs beat Bish a_nd Tate: Hay-ward and Halligan beat Kelter and Stunnell; Capstick and S. Hogg beat Turton and Bayliss. The two-ball matches resulted as follows : —Pulley beat Balfour: Adamson beat J. O. Fiest j Kennaday beat H. W. Fiestj Taylor beat Bunny; Walker beat W. J. Fiest; Kirk beat Thompson; G.
