WINTER SHOW

ATTRACTING LARGE CROWDS Wellington's Winter Show is still attracting large attendances of the public, and the many attractive "exhibits are being viewed with much interest. A number of children visited J'he show to-day, and gained a good huright into New Zealand's secondary industries. The various sideshows were also well patronised. For the convenience of show, patrons, the Tramway Department has decided to run buses from the Post Office to the show as well as from Lambton Station. The Post and Telegraph Department has installed a properly equipped office, with a telephone bureau attached. The • liva-stock sh bw is to open on Thursday next. ; This will take place in the Lambton shed, but there will be no extra charge for admission. Teachers and pujfpils are reminded that entries for the ep/jcial essay competition in connection with the Wellington Winter Show wijl close to-morrow (Wednesday). Prissej. for the essay of two guineas and ofie guinea are offered by Mr. H. T, Johns. The subject of the essay is "Wellington and its future from a commercirtl point of view." The scope will be, "What is required in making Wellington, s. city that will be a pride to its citi'iens and will foster the best in the national heritage in business, culture, education, and healthy" The competition is open to all school boys and gir.-ls of the Wellington provincial . district, of any denomination, under the age of. 16 years.
