AUSTRALIAN TEAM
The Australian hockey representative i team,, which is at present in the South, . is to be tendered a civic reception by the Mayor (Mr. C. B. Norwood) in the Town Hall on Friday next, at 5 p.m. The Australians arrive at Wellington by i the ferry stt»rier Wahine on Friday morning, and they play against a New Zealand side on Saturday afternoon on the Basin Reserve. At the request of members of the visiting tournament teams, a general discussion on hockey has been arranged to take place in the commercial room, Barlett's Hotel, at 6.45 p.m. to-morrow. Tho discussion will last about an hor#-. The big dance to the visiting players, to which the general public will be admitted, is being held in the Town Hnll the same evening, commencing "at 8 o'clock. Late trams have been arranged, and a flr3t-clas3 orchestra has been engaged. Non-dancers will be admitted to the gallery.
