CHANGEABLE WEATHER 1 Disturbances have been located off tlia oast const and lo tlio' soutli-wcst of the Dominion, ami it is stated by the Dived vi' of tlio Meteorological Office (Mr. D. C. Eati-s) that tlio rainfall last night uud strong southerly winds owed their origin to ths ytorm off the east coast, which is now disappearing to the eastward. There has boen some heavy rain in the east coast ot Iho North- Island, (wo roiiort.i received this morning being: Kahnk'nra 2.85 inches, Knatoven (in the neighbourhood of Gisborne) 2.14 inches. Locally the fall for tho 21 hours preceding 9 a.m. to-day amounted to a quarter of an inch. • The westerly disturbance will probably hold sway shortly, but tho barometer at present is unsteady, having a rising tendency im the north and a falling tendency in tho south. Tho winds are likplv to bo variable—soullicrlics ii.n-i.li fif'Kiiwhiii. and K:ist..Cape. southeasterlies thence to Hokitikit^aiid Lyttelton, and easterlies to norluerlies elsewhere .: changeable and showery weather may be expected. Telegrams for admission between all parts of France can now be sent ia Esperanto.
