LONDON, 2nd August, Bain again interfered with cricket fixtures all over tho country, many of the games being abandoned. Playing at Nottingham against Kent, Notts in tho first innings made 154, AP. Freeman taking five wickets for 65 runs, and in the. second innings 'did better, scorinp_377 (A. W. Can- 103,_\V. Paytou 69). Kent's first innings realised 205, F. Unvratt taking four wickets for 56 runs and S. J. Staples five for 56. In the second innings Kent lost six wickets for 329 (G. J. Bryan not out 172, C. H. Knott 57). Kent won by four wickets. , Playing ■ for .Gloucestershire against Surrey at Gloucester,. C. Parker took nino wickets for 118 runs, and'for Surrey H. A. Peach took three for 4. Surrey won.
Playing for Essex against Derbyshire' nt Derby, A. B. Hipkin took five wickets for 44 runs. The match was drawn.
Playing for Glamorgan against Somerset at Bath, J. 0. Clay took six wickets for 37 runs in the first innings, and F. Ryan live fur 35 in tho second. For Somerset .). ,F. Bridges look sis for 37. The. match was drawn.
Xlic fixture .between Hampshire and Sussex, set down to tivlw place at Bournemouth, wus abandoned owing to ruin.
