WOMAN ATTACKED WITH AN AXE

SYDNEY, 2nd August. A young woman, Doris Mahcr, was bending over a waslitub where she was employed at Stockton, Newcastle, when she was ferociously, attacked with an axe, and hey head injured. . She was sent to hospital in any unconscious condition. A boy of fourteen years has been detained. The police state that robbery is belieyed to have been tho motive, as a sum of money is missing from the house.
