WHERE IT COMES FROM.

The Now Zealand Meat Producers Board has been advised by its London manager that the supply of meat and like produce to the London central markets during the live months ended May, ■aggregated 193,703 tons, as against 203,----019 tons for the same period last year— a decrease of 9316 tons or 4.6 per cent. Imported supplies, apart from produce originating in Ireland, formed 81.2 per cent, of the total quantity of produce marketed. British and Irish supplies aggregated 36,393 tons or 18.8 per cent, of the total supply—New Zealand and Australia 33,999 tons or 17.6 per cent; Argentina (including Uruguay), 90,729 tons or '16.8 per cent; Netherlands and other foreign countries, 32,582 tons or 16.8 per cent The description and origin of supplies was as . follows :—Beef and veal: 106,882 tons—Bs-.1 per cent, imported. Argentina loading with 77,759 tons or 72.8 per cent., Britain and Ireland 15,----976 tons or 14.9 per cent., New Zealand and Australia 5135. tons or 4.8 per cent., and other'countries 8012 tons or 7.5 per cent. Mutton and lamb: 52.311 tons—B2.2 per cent, imported. Now Zealand and Australia leading with 27,----574 tons or 52.7 per cent., Argentina 12,770, tons or 24.4'p0r cent., Britain and Ireland 92!)3 tons or 17.8 per cent., ;md other countries 2674 tons or 5.1 per cent. Pork: 22,813 tons—7s.s per cent., imported, Netherlands loading with 15,----179 tons or 66.5 per cent., and Britain and Ireland 5818 tons or 25.5 per cent., and other countries 1816 tons or 8.0 per cent.
