SALE OF FURNITURE
COMPANY MANAGEB CHARGED.
Alleged iregularities in the buying and selling of furniture engaged the at° tention of Mr. Justice Ostler at tho Supreme Court to-day, when Georgo William Thorpe, a company, manager, answered to charges of theft, forgery, and uttering, involving an amount of £23 2s 6d.
It was alleged by the Crown that Thorpe, who was manager for C W. Price, auctioneers, of Lamb ton quay, purchased furniture for his firm with his own money, and then, by'misrepresenting the .price of,, the furniture,- was reimbused by. the firm- to a .greater extent that he should have been. The forgery and uttering charges, it was shown, arise out of the alleged theft. The case is proceeding.
