NEW ZEALAND DEFEATED

SUPERIOR PLAY BY QUEENS.

LAND.

(UNITED MESS ..SSOCIATIOH— COPTRIOHT.)

BRISBANE, Ist August.

In the match against the New Zealand League team, played at the Exhibition Oval, Queensland had a runaway victory, winning by 43 points to 19. The New Zealanders failed completely to impress, their movements being marred by faulty handling-. 'Gregory, WilsonHall, and Weatherall were the 'most outstanding New Zealand players. A crowd of 28,000 people saw the match Tinder perfect weather conditions. Weatherall captained the New Zealanders.

For New Zealand, tries were secured by Sanders (2), Carroll, Mouatt, and Weatherall. Dehjrosso converted two of the tries scored.

The match was hardly up to international standard.. The Queensland players were too fast for the visitors, whose best point was their defence, although outclassed in every department and visibly tired after the match.
