AUCKLAND, 2nd August. A young woman named Fee slipped when stepping off a moving tram, and a wheel passed over her right arm. which had to be amputated.
CHRISTGHURCH, 2nd August. John James Jackson, a porter employed at the Albion Hotel, Lyttelton, died suddenly yesterday. He had not been looking well during the morning and tho licensee advised him to go to bed. Ho collapsed a tew minutes later. At the. ihijtiest to-day, a Verdict that dteath was due to heart failure was returned.
DUNBDIN, 2nd August. Hannah Harneiss, a marrifed woman, who was admitted to the hospital on Thursday suffering from burns recfeive>d thrdiigh" hfer clothfeii catching fire, died this morning. Tlio body of Dr. Alexander Joseph M'llvoy was found floating in the harbbur at 7.15 last night. Beoeased wfent for a walk to Black Jhcic'fe Point, Rarensb»uni6, and tripping, fell into the wator. At an inquest thia mornins a verdict of "accidentally drowned" was returned.
DUNEDIN, This Day. James Pateiaon (70) fell from a. tramcar on Saturday night, sustaining a severe fracture of thfe facial bones.
Hugh Albert Parker and A. N. Thompson, employees of this Post and Telegraph Department, left the wharf in a trawler yesterday morning. Later Thompson was missed from th* deck, and it is pi'esumed he fell overboard and was drowned. '.
AUCKLAND, This Day. " Robert John Shiels (16) was found dead with a single barrelled shotgun by his side, beneath tho homo of his parents in Wellesley street West. There was a severe wound in the head. Deceased had been in ill-health for some time. He was employed at tho Auckland Infirmary, and visited his parents at intervals.
TAUMABUNUI, This Day. Owen Dinedale, a well-known Manunui stock dealer and farhier, was found shot dead on Sunday morning near a whare on his _ farm. A gun waa beside the body.
AUCKLAND, This Day. Enoch Wilson, aged 77, died in the hospital from an injury cauaed by a fall on a concrete path on 14th July.
