LATER HEAVY SHOCKS
WORKERS AND POLICE INJURED.
SAN PEANdISCO, 29th June.
- The Santa Barbara earthquake shock* are continuing. A violent tremour was felt early on Monday, the heaviest since the shock \yhich wrecked the city, and preceded additional shocks on Monday evening. Bluejackets and naval militia patrol the heart of the business section, but there is no disorder. • (Received Ist July, 10 a.m.) SANTA BARBARA, 30th June. Three more violent shocks shook the city early to-day, after a series of tremours during the night- A number of workers and special police, were injured, though apparently there were no deaths, as the inhabitants had either fled from the city or taken the precaution of sleeping in the open. The total death list is now thirteen. , ' The Hollywood picture studios' provided powerful spotlights to assist in the search for bodies during the night. A general exodus from the city continues, and the damaged roads are choked by the traffic. Only construction and wrecking crows arc permitted to enter tho ruined business section of the city, vfhicb is guarded by soldiers and sailors.
