Council's heavy traffic, fess, viz., from .£l2'-for unladen' weight not exceeding, 30c\:t to £75 for unladen weight exceeding, four tons on traffic-to Helensville in tho North and to Mercer, .in tho South, .holding that itcould -not-be said: to .be' unreasonable; :' Mr, Justice Reed 'said . there was ho statistical -restriction: upon the amount of heavy traffic license, fees that municipal, corporations; may demand. It was a question..'of reasonableness..' The. amount must not .be greater than sufficient to produce revenue ,enough,,to ;relieve ,tho' ratepayers' burden cast : upon ■ theni by the. increased cost of ieayy traffic and keeping the road in;a state of efficiency,, which, in addition to maintenance, in-! eluded .improvement' to' the -structure; of' tlie road sufficient to bear such traffic; He. was satislied the council.exercised:honest' judgment; andthat on. the whole it had not been proved that ..the total taxation required' or the amount; to be collected, cbuld be said'to.be.excessi^..
