,- Sir, —I notice-that, Mr. R...A. Wright, M.P., speaking in the -Taranaki- Street. Methodist Schoolroom last evening, is reported to have said: "The Labour Party lias an organised- campaign of rowdyism in operation." I.wish-to give that statement the lie direct,.'and do so at the earliest possible moment.'..
, If ;Mr. Wright is correctly reported, then his assertion is as base as it is" liaseiess, and ;is quite on a level with certain %vild, unfounded statements made iby him during last : General : Election, •■which I contradicted at: the time. Of : course, although Mr: Wright Was completely bowled., out,, no withdrawal came from him, . nor, knowing Mr. Wright's methods, did. I expect any... ', . Mr. Wright apparently also said Jasfc night.that two thousand of Labour's supporters left Wclliogton Central since, last election. . I am nob certain that Mr. Wright's estimate is quite accurate.-but I understand that most of those who Lave left have gone to live in Wellington "Suburbs.—lam, etc., '...'.
