Ten locomotives for the New Zealand Railways were brought to Auckland from Scotland by the New Zealand Shipping Company s steamer Tekoa, now dischar^ ing at the Queen's Wharf. Tho locomotives are class AB, and are similar to those used for the limited-and ordinary express services They built at th e North British Locomotive Works, Glasgow from drawings sent from the Chief f Mechanical Engineer's office, Wellington slates the "New Zealand Herald." The locomotives aro specially desisned for colonial requirements, and they are to be used m the Auckland district. They wil] be assembled at the Newmarket 'Work. •=ilOps. * ,--"UlJ»
